Todays Ice Sculpture: Parks Definitions and Terminology - A Visual Presentation
The parks business is like other professions with its own unique definitions and terminology. The attached presentation includes annotated pictures to define park property (i.e., municipal reserve lands), park ameniites (i.e., park furniture, trees and landscaping, playgrounds, trails, lighting, etc.), park activities (i.e., field sports, childrens play, passive and active, strucutured unstructured recreation, etc.), and higher level park program (i.e., ecological goods and services, economic benefits, education, social/ cultural and physical and mental health and wellness benefits. The latter (i.e., program) are the reason why parks exist, and support sustainable city development and redevelopment.
